Each month, RoZetta Technology hosts the Sydney Cassandra Users Meetup. This is an event open to the public for anyone who uses the Apache Cassandra database and wishes to learn more.
Apache Cassandra is a distributed database for managing large amounts of structured data across many commodity servers, while providing highly available service and no single point of failure. Apache Cassandra offers capabilities that relational databases and other NoSQL databases simply cannot match such as: continuous availability, linear scale performance, operational simplicity and easy data distribution across multiple data centers and cloud availability zones.
The meetup will take place on Wednesday 15 February from 5.45pm and the topic is Building Cassandra Clusters for Massive Scale. On completion of this meetup, attendees will learn how to setup from scratch an Apache Cassandra cluster of 2-1000 nodes in a best practise manner using an automation suite.
You will learn what the scaling implications are for drivers and application tiers as the Apache Cassandra cluster grows in size. A full presentation will be available too.
